What’s the difference between a Conservatory and an Orangery

If you’re looking into home extensions, you will have come across the terms “conservatory” and “orangery” before. But are you are unsure about what exactly they mean?

Put simply, an orangery is a conservatory with extra brickwork such as extra brick pillars or brickwork corners.

This can create an attractive, more substantial look, like a traditional extension. However you also get the benefit of it feeling more a part of your garden.

The opposite of this would be a glass to ground conservatory. This would be great if you want a seamless transition between your house and garden.

If you’re after a room that is more like a full extension, an orangery fitted with our solid, lightweight, tiled roof is your best bet.

For a more light and airy feel, a conservatory with a solar controlled, self cleaning glass roof on a dwarf wall or glass to ground might be more your cup of tea!

If you’re spoiled for choice, pop in to our showsite, and we can help you make the Right Choice!
